Based in the heart of the historic and inspiring city of Durham, Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation brings together six centuries of experience in nurturing our pupils. Chorister School (ages 3 to 11) and Durham School (ages 11 to 18) make up the Foundation.

Our mission is to provide pupils with a complete education; one which instils in them an aspiration for achievement, a respect for others and a confidence for life.

A message from Kieran McLaughlin
Principal of Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation

At Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation, we combine academic excellence with an extensive co-curricular offering.

Our motto is:

Confidence for life. Respect for all.

We want our pupils to leave us as mature and responsible young men and women, imbued with the skills required to tackle the challenges ahead of them.

Our values - moral integrity, ambition, responsibility, and kindness - are the MARK of a DCSF education and we instil this by creating a caring, supportive community where we aim to unlock and fulfil each pupil's full potential.

But please, don't just take our word for it - come and experience DCSF for yourselves.

As well as regular Open Days, we host individual tours for potential pupils and their families, just get in touch and we will organise a visit.
