Each half term at Chorister School brings a new programme of wellbeing sessions, all linked to the Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation MARK values (Moral Integrity / Ambition / Responsibility / Kindness)
Those children who demonstrate these values in school are celebrated weekly with our MARK awards.
We believe that a happy child is a learning child. Parents can expect that throughout their child’s Chorister School journey, they receive regular updates and touchpoints regarding their child’s wellbeing alongside their academic progress.
Our staff are dedicated to nurturing and celebrating the whole child. At each Chorister School site (Cathedral and Bow locations) we have an experienced senior leader who oversees our pastoral care.
Children also have access to our School Nurse who provides one-to-one emotional support when required.
Wellness is prioritised in every area of school life, whether that’s via our dedicated wellness areas in each classroom, where children can spend time recharging and engaging in activities such as mindful colouring, through to our celebrations of World Mental Health Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day.
