The apprenticeship will span over a three-year period with a local mechanics where Sam will specialise in 4x4s work such as Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

I have been interested in the cars for as long as I can remember but the main inspiration was working on my own car. Durham School has helped by allowing me to tailor my A levels to a practical approach. I decided to concentrate on two A levels because I didn't need any more qualifications for the route I wanted to take.
When asked about the future, Sam said:
I hope to be able to have my Level 3 Tech and I would love to be able to get a full job at the garage where I will complete my apprenticeship. I have been learning about the basics of maintenance with my own car as I did a lot of interior work and I learnt how to do wiring among other things such as suspension breaks and lots of stuff.
Best of luck to Sam!
