Durham School, the only all Steinway School in the North of England, prides itself on the musical talents of their pupils across all age groups.
This year all of the music exams were assessed by video submission, 16 Durham School pupils took the ABRSM exam. Despite the added pressure of the exam being a pre-recorded piece, the pupils embraced the challenge and all passed.
Two pupils did particularly well by achieving a distinction in Grade 8 piano and the other in Grade 8 violin.
Will in Year 11 achieved a Distinction in piano and Anthony in Year 13 was also awarded a Distinction for violin. What makes his violin unique is that Anthony made it with his own hands, totalling in over 200 hours of work. This is an even more impressive achievement to add on to his already impressive exam result.
Well done to everyone for achieving brilliant results!
